Legalisation of Titles
In certain cases, documents issued abroad must be legalised in order to be valid for administrative purposes.
Legalisation is not required in:
- Member States of the European Union.
- Signatory states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, according to bilateral agreement with the European Union.
- Countries that have signed the Hague Convention, except those of the EU and the EEA, which require an apostille but not legalisation.
For all other countries, diplomatic legalisation is required.
